What is this?
I found this tiny, (what I can only describe as a "disk") in the street. It's hard (not flexible) clear plastic, and it has rough sides, it reminds me a bit of a tiny toy CD, but that doesn't seem right.

Looks like mini record, are the grooves uniform and circular, or are they in a spiral and non-uniform? You might need a magnifying glass to check. Login to reply to comments...

The notches around the outside suggest that this could possibly be a rotary quadrature encoder wheel. I've been looking hard for an image of the type I'm thinking of, but to no avail. Was it always clear? Are there signs of paint having come off of it? Login to reply to comments...
